We work on all makes and models of all cars, classic and modern. We undertake all aspects of vehicle servicing and repair work. We are a full mechanical repair workshop and will take on any job on any make of classic car. Pitstop Hornby can provide a "one stop shop" restoration service for the owner of a classic car who does not have the time to organise all the necessary trades required in restoring their car, or for that matter locate all the parts required for this process. At the moment we are providing this service to a Marlborough farmer who brought his Series 2a Landrover to us for a full restoration back to original specification. This vehicle had been repowered with a Mazda diesel and 5 speed gearbox. We are returning this vehicle back to a Landrover 4 cylinder petrol with the correct transmission and restoring the bodywork and paintwork. We have undertaken a full suspension and steering rebuild on a Series 1 Jaguar XJ6. This job eventually grew to include an engine and transmission rebuild and a repaint. We have completely rebuilt the suspension on a 1968 Chevrolet Impala including removing the body from the chassis to treplace all body mounts. This job required one-off manufacturing of some components and in the near future may include the rebuilding of the 400ci V8 engine. We are undertaking the build of a Mini which will be powered by a 1600 V-Tec Honda engine. This car will be fuel injected and will require the electronic interface in order to work. It will also have major steering, suspension, brake and body upgrades and will be fully road legal upon completion. We have worked on a wide range of European, American and Australian classics, some of which have required major work in order to get back onto the road.
